this buffalo was among a group that were moving to some better pasture right by the Slough Creek campground in Yellowstone. I got there about halfway through the migration and set up on a green box. i was really happy this guy came ambling along just when i got my paints out. The next group altered their route slightly and I couldn’t switch positions but got to watch them closely in any case. like a sound stage, the background appears to be moving
